It’s exciting to get our Mission program up and running again. We’ve had several great meetings with incredible mission ideas and an exceptionally passionate group. Matthew 9:35: “Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.” Matthew 9:36: “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." God help us to show compassion to those who are confused and helpless and have no shepherd, no matter how many times we have to do it. There are many opportunities for you to be a part of our Church’s mission outreaches. Please prayerfully consider in what area you might be able to help. 1. There has been a great need to reach out to the homeless and substance abusers in our community. We will be having a community outreach Friday, July 12 at 7 p.m. to share the love of Jesus with those we meet. We will meet at Hair Graphics parking lot and walk from there and hand out bags with toiletries, pre-packaged foods, and a Gideon New Testament Bible. 2. Vacation Bible School is July 21-25. While your child is in VBS you can share your time and talent with those in our congregation in need. Consider sharing two hours of your time to do odd jobs for those in our congregation. Please contact Kim Urban at 304-704-5939 for more information.

Christian Education Program Updates: In Sunday School and Children’s Church this month, we will be learning some of the stories of Abraham and Sarah’s family from the book of Genesis. As we read the stories together, we will notice that these two people are named Abram and Sarai until Genesis 17, when God changes Abram’s name to Abraham and Sarai’s name to Sarah to symbolize a covenant between them. July 7 – Abraham and Sarah: Abraham and Sarah listen to God (Genesis 12:1-9; 15:1-6) July 14 – Abraham and Lot: Families compromise and sometimes part ways (Genesis 13:1-12) July 21 – Sarah and Isaac: Families share joy and laughter (Genesis 18:1-15; 21:1-7) July 28 – Isaac and Rebekah: Families grow and change (Genesis 24:1-67)

For Bible School this year we are asking for the congregation to collect CLEAN, empty icing containers and half gallon cardboard juice containers. We need one of each item for every child at VBS and are planning for 75. These items can be dropped off in the church office by Monday, July 15. Thank you for your continued support!
